It all started with a few batterted brass instruments in a primary school in Ugandas capital Kampala. “Get the kids from the streets” was the motto of social workers Micheal Mwase and Geoffrey Tumusiime – and with music they could inspire and motivate. Today, 12 years later, Rainbow House of Hope with its brass band and its varied activities are a permanent institution in Kampalas district Nsambya. For many children and youth from the neighborhood “Rainbow” is their second home. The filmmakers get close to Nsambya’s people and their stories without intruding or the use of chilchés. With a authentic and honest narrative they give exciting insight of their protagonists lives.
